On August 27th, in Varna, the art project "Salty Blue" was presented, in which I participated with my works on natural silk, inspired by the poems of Tatyana Yavasheva. Although I was not personally present at the event, I was extremely excited that a part of my art was shown to the public as part of this unique project that brings together literature, music, visual, and applied arts.
"Salty Blue" is a poetry book by the poet and journalist Tatyana Yavasheva. She is an incredibly delicate woman, capable of awakening silence through her verses, touching the stars, and making all the quiet particles in the soul dance!
My series of scarves inspired by poetry are like a still ocean rising from the wind and the birds and the sun! Inspired by Tatiana Yavasheva's poetry, which combines the brevity and precision of words to convey deep emotions and images related to the sea, I began to paint this series of scarves that Tatiana and I are about to present to you... Her poems create a feeling in me for movement, depth and mystery that I try to capture and convey on silk. Silk, as a delicate material, offers the opportunity to express the feelings and images evoked by words. Soft and smooth lines and color shades, reminiscent of sea waves and ethereal movements of water, sound and sight of dolphins, silence and contemplation...feeling!
Painting on silk is an art that requires attention, precision, and a love for detail. With silk, there is no second take! Once painted, it remains as it is! Inspired by "Salty Blue," I started creating a series of hand-painted scarves that combine the softness of silk with the emotional depth of Tanya's poetry. These scarves are not just accessories; they are living works of art that can be touched and felt. For me, poetry is an art that can be touched!
The art project also included musical compositions created specifically for the event, enhancing the atmosphere and emotional charge of the poetry and visual arts. Music, just like silk and poetry, has the power to affect the senses and evoke emotions. Teodor Popov and Yuri Stoykov created compositions inspired by the poems in the collection of poems, by the sounds of the sea and nature.
Art is eternal because it is an expression of the human soul and a quest to understand the world and oneself. Imagination is a blessing because it allows people to transcend the boundaries of reality and create new, unknown worlds. Words, visual images, and music can create worlds or destroy universes because they carry within them the power of emotion and thought. This was precisely the message of "Salty Blue"—a project that shows how different arts can come together to create something new and unique that touches the soul and inspires imagination.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this art project with remarkable individuals and creators!
